How To Design Your Website For Search Engine Optimization

In reality, you do not have to offer such a “heavyweight” download such as a full-feature software like iTunes. You can attract prospects equally well with some quality freebies such as a simple report, a free wallpaper, and so on. The important thing is that your download offers enough value for the prospect to be willing to give away his/her own email address to get it.

Minimizing Load Time Through Image Optimization:Even though more and more Internet users switch to broadband every year, a sizable portion of the web’s population is still running on good old dialup connections. It is therefore unwise to count them out of the equation when you’re designing your website, and a very major consideration we have to make for dialup users is the loading time of your website.

Generating Revenue With Good Planning:For anything to work well, care must be taken to make firm, workable plans to execute it and the same goes for website designs. With a well thought out website design, you will be able to create a site that generates multiple streams of revenue for you. In fact, may websites turn into online wasteland because they are not well planned and do not get a single visitor. Gradually, the webmaster will not be motivated to update it anymore and it turns into wasted cyberspace.

Another route you can take is to design your website yourself. Think about it, if you only need 5 simple pages to present some simple information, why waste hundreds of dollars for it? Just spend a little time to sit down and do it yourself. You’ll be able to design your own sites even if you do not know a single line of HTML code with the help of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) programs such as Microsoft Frontpage, Macromedia Dreamweaver and so on.

When you have a broader, better-defined scope of themes for your website, you can sell space on your pages to people interested in advertising on your page. You can also earn from programs like Google’s Adsense and Yahoo! Search Marketing if people surf to those themed pages and click on the ads. For this very reason, the advertisement blocks on your pages need to be relevant to the content, so a themed page fits that criteria perfectly.

Use visual representations for the problems and solutions that your product offers. Not everyone will read your text copy from the head to the tail, but most people will pay attention to images on your website.

Use the Network ? Attract Browsers

Utilizing forums is a great way to draw browsers to your website. Message boards is a way for a network of people to post information, or gather information and interact with people who could be a customer. Using these message boards and forums will help get your website out there to be viewed by others.

Most forums allow you to add a signature line to your profile. You can choose to add your name, a logo or catchphrase that describes your business and a link to your website. Your signature line will be added to each of your posts, and as people read them, they may be curious about your business and visit your site.

Since you are starting from the ground floor in developing relations with others you need to start with a good introduction. It will require some time for people to build their trust in you. Be careful not the come across aggressive in your advertisements. You will find your messages are deleted quickly. Post frequently and advertise your business subtly and peoples reliance in you will grow and so will the traffic to your site.

If someone asks a question that you have an answer to, by responding and being genuinely helpful, you will establish yourself as an expert in that topic. People will come to you with their questions and will trust your answers. They will remember you and be more likely to visit your site in search of more information on that topic.

The goal is to increase browsers to your site so you want to include links to newsletters and articles on your site. As people visit the site for additional information you expand your mailing list and give yourself more website traffic.

If you are offering an e-course, a special report or some other discount for a product or service on your site, include a link in your forum posts. The members of the online communities you belong to will want to take advantage of your special offers.

Don’t be afraid to ask for referrals. Word of mouth advertising has long been considered some of the best advertising you can find. With the onset of these forums, your online friends can literally refer you to people all over the globe. You can also use the forums to network with other Internet Marketers, and they are a great place to find people to team up with on joint ventures.

By building relationships with other forum members, offering helpful information to establish yourself as an expert, and placing links to your website, you will be able to add a steady stream of traffic to your website.

Sure Fire ways to expand your Network with Email Marketing.

In networking business, you need to network with people. The best way to maintain contact with people online is through Email Marketing. You can use it for many purposes; appreciation for joining/ purchasing, product updates, promotional updates.

The potential of MLM / Network Marketing online is tremendous, but the difference in geographical regions makes it difficult to connect with your downlines real time. But this difference can be easily solved by Email Marketing.

Doing MLM/ Network Marketing online, the first most important thing is collecting leads, most often through a opt-in form or squeeze page. These leads are targeted leads, which mean that they are people who are interested in your company or product.

These are your potential cash cows. You need to follow up with them, update them regularly, forming a relationship. The purpose of doing this is to increase their awareness of your company or product. Imagine, today if you keep seeing the advertisement of, say, MacDonald’s, the next time you make a decision on where to eat, you will probably be thinking of MacDonald’s. You need to get them to see your advertisements. The easiest way is to send them emails.

To make people remember you, your company, or website, you can use email marketing to reach out to them. Email Marketing is a powerful way to reach out to your leads, and convert them into potential sales.

Be Professional

When composing email-messages, you need to keep in mind some points to make your emails look more professional.

- Who are you?

People will see who sent them the email before opening them. This makes your email address very important. To look more professional, please refrain from using free email accounts like @gmail, @yahoo or @hotmail. Use something that your customer recognizes, such as your name or company name. e.g. support @yourcompanyname.com. Most hosting package gives you a number of emails account you can create under your own domain name.

Another factor that determines if a person opens up your email is the subject line. Your subject line must attract them or create interest to know more. Generally as a rule, keep it under 50 characters.

- Message text

After your reader decides to open your email, you have to grab this opportunity to sell your purpose to them. Identify your self and the purpose of your purpose to them immediately. Keep the style of the email close to the style of your website. State the referrer if you have.

Increase The Effectiveness of Your Email

An effective email is more likely to increase traffic to your website. It also increases the returns on effort (that is for scripting the email). Here is 6 golden rules to make your email more effective;

- Focus on Branding

Remember to brand yourself or the Company, whichever you are representing. Good branding will make readers remember you, or your company. Keep to the branding you choose, and use it consistently, every time you email them. Use the branding in your from line or subject line, so they can recognize you.

- Honesty

Be honest in your subject line. Don’t trick them to opening the email with misleading or false information. Be cautioned that it is a requirement to state accurate subject line.

- Instill Urgency

Creating a sense of urgency will make the reader make a decision. You can instill the sense of urgency in readers by using words like “for the first 50 customers, Limited time, early bird discount” in the email to make readers feel the need to take action soon.

- Entice them

To further entice them to open the email or action, offer them benefits to action. You can combine urgency and the benefits in the subject line.

- Don’t overdo it

In your main body, you can use bolds, colors, and capital letters to emphasize the benefits of your product / service. But bear in mind not to over do it. Using too much bolds, capital letters and colors will not only confuse your readers, it will also piss people and spiders off. Spiders may filter your email and classify it as SPAM.

- K.I.S.S Keep It Short and Sweet.

Different purpose of email requires you to use different strategy in your emails. But as a general rule, keep your email simple and sweet. Nobody likes to read a long and wordy email. You should keep your email to the main point. If you have too much information to give, it will probably better if you give a short introduction in the email and add a link for people to click to read the full article.

*P.S. It is compulsory (legal requirement) for you to include an “unsubscribe tab” in your emails to reduce SPAM

The Best Ways To Increase Your Website Traffic

When you build a website it is necessary to promote the site so other people knows that it exists out there on the Internet. If you do not promote your site then the probability of having high traffic is nearly impossible. There are great ways to promote your website and increase the traffic to your website.

Good advertising does not have to cost a lot of money especially if you are someone who knows a little bit about websites. During construction of your website it is necessary to include Meta tags on the header of the HTML that you are using. This way if your site sells a product, when people search for that product they will be able to get good results.

Search engines can also be very useful. Often you can determine the trends of searches on these sites that will give you information as to what people are looking for. By keeping a close eye on these trends, you can change Meta tags so that your site will consistently be among the most searched topics.

There are many ways to promote your website and increase traffic flow. One way is to use online video sites to show off your product. This way people can see how easy the product works and the actual style of the product. Customeras testimonials from pleased users of the product will let other people know that they are not the first to try out your product. Include as much information as you can on your website and watch your traffic flow increase.

RSS feeds are also beneficial to keep thing up to date and relevant on your site. This way of promoting is a fairly new technology and is sure to bring business. It simply allows current clients and visitors to keep up with current news on your site and will draw in more traffic to see your products.

What are some other suggestions on how to get website traffic? Personally, I think that pay per click programs are a great resource to drive traffic to your website. They are simple to join, and just take a few snippets of code to install. These are great ways to exchange links with other businesses around the net, large and small, and can be another source of income for you as well.

Although these are all justifiable tactics, you might still be skeptical or unsure as to how to really increase web traffic. So another technique includes the use of online bartering networks. These provide an avenue to convey information between other website and business owners. You can compare information and really get value from teaming up to increase traffic between everyone.

The answers for how to get website traffic might seem easy, but promotion does take a lot of hard work. Being dedicated and treating the promotion of your business just as seriously as you treat your business itself is extremely important to the success of driving traffic to your website. Using these tools and some ingenuity, you will be a widget millionaire in no time.

Edu Text Links Still Proving To Be More Valuable

Search engines are known for collecting information and using that information to rank certain sites higher than others. When they find a link on a high rated site, that link will be valued higher than if the same exact link was found on a lower ranked site. Links from sites with a .gov or .edu suffix are considered trusted and authority sites and are considered very valuable. Also, links that come from high ranked PageRank sites come with high value.

Though most SEOs know this, you do still read the occasional naysayer. There are even one or two very prominent industry stars that insist they are no more valuable than any other link. This is really just not true. If you run a test on 2 sites, and add .edu links to #1, and standard links to #2, you definitely will find site #1 to rank higher. At Edutextlink.com we have tested this, and we see very regular evidence that they .edu links are taken more seriously by search engines.

If you do any random search, you will very often see .edu and .gov sites ranking in the top 10, even when they are not the most relevant, or even when they are outdated. This is more proof that they are not treated the same as a .com or .net.

It is probably true that the algorithm is not written to put a blanket boost on any link from a site with .edu as the tld. If someone were to start a brand new university tomorrow, links from that site may not be valuable. But the fact is that most of the .edu sites are very old, very big, full of information, trusted sites, with tens of thousands of inbound links and high PR. It is this reason that the search engines seems to be placing more importance on the links.

Yes, there are one or two naysayers still, but by and large, the industry places high value on .edu text links, as do the search engines. We will continue to run with the crowds and continue to use .edu text links. The phenomenal results we’re seeing with our clients rising swiftly to the top in search tells us we’re doing something right.

I Found a Site with Free WordPress Themes!

A lot of people are setting up their own blog sites these days. The hard part is not to create your own WordPress site, but to develop a site that has a theme which really fits your needs. Let me tell you about a website I found a few days ago that has many different free WordPress themes to choose from.

Many people who use WordPress have never used a site management system before, and are surprised at how easy they are to use. WordPress allows complete customization of your site, including the general layout, called a theme. These themes change the entire behaviour and appearance of your site, make it stand apart from other web sites.

One of the themes I saw on the site was financial theme. It was designed to be completely business oriented, looking similar to a news service blog. And it was only one of the many themes the site had to offer, covering a wide range of designs.

For bloggers, WordPress is like opening your very own online magazine. Create original articles, add some audio and video, and you’ve got a multimedia website that can be customized with WordPress themes to work well for hobbyists and business owners alike.

Many people experiment with a few different themes before they are set on the one they like the most. Each theme provides a different appearance to the site, as well as providing different options to the webmaster or site owner. This allows every site to provide a unique experience, and offers many options in how information is displayed.

A useless WordPress theme will provide you with popular search engine optimization options, such as meta tag support, and the ability to create RSS feeds. With these favourites, you may later add links to allow visitors to bookmark your site on major social media sites.

Your visitors will appreciate a fresh WordPress template. after all, your site isn’t just like all the others, so it shouldn’t look like them either. Get a new theme, and customize it to suit your company’s tastes. WordPress is very flexible, and can be manipulated to create a vast number of variations on any given theme.

Try a different WordPress theme for yourself. They are easy to install, and provide an endless variety of options you can change about how your site looks and behaves. You can even modify the number of columns the site displays, as well as colours and other display options that truly make each page a unique creation.

Biggest Slowdown Since 1929

The rapid growth of telecommunication with the emerge of IT industry has kept the GDP and different growth parameters steep rising post 1990s.However far beyond the imaginations and expectations of researchers, experts, analyst across the globe the recent turmoil in credit market, banking sector in the banks of USA, European and few Asian banks are the largest since 1929.

This unfortunate and however remarkable incident has proved the need of redefining and re-strengthening the current financial chemistry. For instance the biggest bail out package, cuts in CRR up to 150 bps have proved itself insufficient to prevent the steep fall in stock indexes across different global exchanges.

The demise of larger financial institutions such as Lehman Brothers was not totally surprising to everyone. An analysis of Lehman Brothers business model, their policies, lending strategies and basic business practices would seem to make the eventual downfall of the company inevitable. It is strange that with an abundance of danger signals that the fall of the company was not predicted much sooner or at least in time to have done something constructive about it. Instead employees and shareholders were left holding a rather empty bag.

The question arises here is how long and how many times a country or banks would be able to prevent these debacle? Is our strategy of investment or portfolio being adopted is healthy enough to promise a sustainable growth rate. Surprisingly the recent G7 meeting couldn’t find out feasible solutions.

The US and China have been working together to attempt to get tings turned around with perhaps some success. However, even if these to major economic powers experience some success in achieving a recovery, the other Asian and the European countries have to be fully involved in the process.

Financial rescue packages will not necessarily help the investor in the short term except perhaps to put a brake on the losses. Assuming it will take some time for financlial institutions and other affected organizations to get their houses in order, the investor must review his or her own investment strategies in hopes of regaining a pattern of sustainable growth.

The small investor having been burned by the recent slide will no doubt be very cautious as to when and where to invest any additional money. And well he should be until the political leaders of the countries most involved get together and put in place practices designed not only to reverse the current situation to prevent it from happening again.

A common man when reads an article on crisis in share indexes doesn’t understand or even bothers to think how this effects his life. However the same person when unfortunately gets laid off from his organization accounting slow down as reason blames his luck. Awareness among common people about ups and downs of stock graph would help them to improve their life style.

Blog Comments for SEO Back Links

Using blog comments to generate back links to your site is becoming more and more prevalent.

Those of you that aren’t using blog comments for back link have probably heard some on tell you about no follow tags and how the search engines won’t follow the link from comment on blogs.

There is a trace of truth to this but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t use blog comments to get back links because there are some blogs that don’t have the no follow tags on their comments.

When WordPress is installed it automatically configures your blog to have no follow tag on comment but there are some blog owners that want you to comment so they will use a plugin to remove the no follow tags, either completely or based on the number of comments you leave.

Before I get into what to look for to find blogs without the no follow tag I want to cover comment etiquette.

If you are going to leave a comment on the blog MAKE SURE the comment is relevant to the post.

For example if the post is on blog comments your comment should be related to that post and have something to do with the content of the post. Don’t leave a comment talking about how to conquer the newest MLM offering.

When you are writing your comments don’t put any links in the body of the comment. Not only is this poor etiquette it can actually get you listed on the comment spam lists if you are reported by the blog owners. You can put a link in the comment body if, and only if, it is a resource to something in the post.

I recommend that you set your blog up so that if there are links in the body of the comment it will go to the comment moderation. This way you will have to approve the comment before it shows up on your blog. This will keep the spammy comments of your blog.

Where the comment form asks for your name that should be your name, don’t stuff it with keywords. You can use a pseudonym, I use Randy The Hermit because most people know me by that. Your pseudonym can have keywords in it, if the keywords are related to you or your business only. And it should stay the same on every comment. Besides if the no follow tags are in place the keywords won’t help you in the search engines.

That pretty much covers the etiquette but I can hear a lot of you out there screaming, “Why should I bother if it is going to have the no follow tag on the back link?”

This question can be given a few answers, such as:

1.It is still a link to your site that people will see and possibly follow. If you leave 5 blog comments per day that is 1,500 links in a year that might catch the eye of the reader and could get you traffic.

2.If your comments are on topic and informative people will remember your name and you will become a known expert in the field. This is part of the reason you want to use the same name.

3.If your comment is informative you will also find that a lot of the readers will click on your link to find out more about you.

4.Just because the major search engines abide by the no follow tag doesn’t mean everybody does. The last time I checked Ask would follow no follow tags and there are some ad services that do their own back link testing that will follow these links and this could raise the amount you collect for showing their ads.

There are the reasons to not worry about the no follow tag but what if you want to find blogs that don’t use the no follow tag in the comments?

You can find a post with comments and look at the source code for the page, scroll through all the code until you find the comments and then look for the no follow tag. Yes, this is awkward but it gets the job done.

The good news is that you don’t have to do it that way. If you are using FireFox or Flock as your browser you can get an addon that will highlight all the no follow tags on a page. It is called SEO for FireFox and you can get it from SEOTools.com or you can search SEO for FireFox addon in Google.

This addon will give you a bunch of information that can be used for SEO but the one feature that we are interested in now is the no follow highlighting. What it does is look at all the links on the page your viewing and highlights all the no follow links in red. If the name in the blog comment isn’t red then the no follow is shut off on that blog.

People that run WordPress blogs want you to leave comments and they don’t want spam comments so a lot of them have started using a plugin that rewards the people that comment frequently, this plugin is called Lucia’s Linky Love.

Once Lucia’s is installed the blog master can set up the comments so that after a person make so many comments the no follow tag is removed for that person.

It does require that you use the same name and the same email address for every comment (I believe I mentioned using the same name above).

The owner of the site can set the limit from 3 to whatever they feel like but most of the time if they are using the plugin it is set from 3 to 5. This means you will have to leave a relevant comment 3 to 5 times before the no follow tag is removed but when it is removed it is removed from any comments you make from there on.

Now I bet you want to know how this will help you when you are leaving comments. You can actually find posts that are using Lucia’s Linky Love but doing a search in Googles Blogsearch. Put your keyword phrase in quotes then a plus sign (+) then in quotes Lucia’s Linky and you should find posts on topic that use this plugin. Make the minimum number of comments plus 1 and you now have start creating back links followed by all the search engines.

On my blogs I usually have this set at three and I review the comments on a regular basis any comments that read like pure spam I delete. Because I delete them the spammers never get to the magic number of three and the no follow stays in place. This leads to more comments that are usually more informative.

SEO: Mysterious And Elusive

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is still a mystery to people not in the industry. It is hardly a household word. But what is always fascinating is that even within the SEO industry, there is so much gray area on how it should be done and what is or isnt ethical.

There are some standard guidelines like high volume of content on the website, giving outbound links and receiving inbound links, properly formatted meta tags, and a well organized site. Most in the industry do agree that these are basic tenets for a successful SEO program, but there is no magic path to getting there. SEO is not divined from a scientific method, but remains almost like a dance, an art form. The SEO provider is constantly working and reworking their formulas while they keep a close eye on the website’s movement in the rankings.

Ask 10 SEO companies s to perform a site analysis, and you;ll get 10 different reports. Luckily most of them will have quite a bit of overlap. And luckier still, provided they are bona fide SEOs , most will not have any outright conflicting advice. But still, the finesse and attention to detail that a good SEO agent possesses will be evident in the varied responses you would see in these 10 reports.

The industry is an exciting one for SEO providers. Because there’s no clear cut right or wrong way, much of their work is based on inherent knowledge, experience, and a whole lot of intuitiveness. Nobody has a secret plan that will work 100% every time, and every website is different in its needs and goals. Building traffic and improving rankings are the only way a SEO provider gets a “report card”. And because SEO work takes time before the effects are seen, there’s almost a magical excitement present that the suspense of not knowing brings.

The mystery of SEO also makes it hard on a layman though. It is nearly impossible to perform truly stellar SEO work to your own site, because the finesse it requires only comes with volumes of clients under your belt. Further it makes it harder for a layman to choose an SEO provider, and to know if the changes his SEO wants him to do are right answers. It requires a leap of faith and at least a basic understanding of SEO to dive into it.
